    i have the above outboard that i just got as a package with a 12 foot avon inflatable just took it on the water and found i only had a small amount o water coming out of the hole . i would like to know if anyone could send me a link for a manual and if anyone has had the same problem as i dont want to run it if its not cooling i can not find a manual in the uk or on the net any help would be greatly appreciated thanks matt

    You need to service it since there is no telling when was the last time. Change the impeller and the gear oil. If the impeller breaks, it is a hassle to find all the small pieces of rubber

    thanks mate but need to find a manual as i have had time on bike and car engines but not on outboards allso need to find the exact year of engine as i have put number of the bracket plate in the net and found no match the number is be15balcob if anyone knows please can you tell me the year thanks matt

    Be careful, I've rebuilt 3 1977-'85 OMC 15s. One 'peed' inadequately after waterpump replacement. The cause: grommet where the copper water tube enters the powerhead via the exhaust megaphone had disintegrated and blocked the water intake. Result was scored cylinder walls.

    Kind of an old post, but its a 1985 model.

    Like already stated, the week link is the small rubber grommet that connects the water tube to the power head. You need to pull the power head to replace it.
