One of the barrier islands of Belize or Celerain? Not so easy - I just killed an hour for that guess.

Well it seems to be Caribbean, due to the wildlife I would say Little Cayman, but the islands shape is´nt Cayman like and I do´nt remember the lighthouse. Maybe Mark is closer with the Belize coast!? Wildlife would be almost the same. But thats more or less valid for the sea of cortez too (my favourite sailing area) and there is no such island I think.

Mmmm...it's being more difficult than I thought.
Let's see: Belize is a clue, but just a clue.

    Cheers.

Well, not exactly "almost" Belize. Isla Contoy (well done, Mark!) is precisely at the other end of the second largest coral reef in the world wich begins in Belize (or then south of Isla Contoy if you prefer).

Why don't we give bntii the chance to post one?

    Cheer.

    Please excuse the amateurish artwork.

They spell "cay", "caye", "k-e-y" in florida. I fish for a living and don't know your bonefish from a snook drawing, I can only find a Bonefish Cay in the Bahamas ( nice place "se vende, se renta", BTW), shipwreck near a "cow" city? Ciudad de Vaca? In Florida, they call manatees "sea cows" maybe ( I know Stellar's crew called the Alaskan manatees "Stellars sea cows" before they killed and ate the last of them...Really - A little like the Great Auk and nearly the Short-tailed Albie , for that matter - big and vulnerable = extinct)? This is not the Seven Mile Bridge nor any part of the Overseas Highway but I think we are in Florida here! Good puzzle - too good for me!

Perhaps Cabeza de Vaca, an Spanish conqueror, and not Ciudad de Vaca. Let's try this way...
