Random Picture Thread

After reading some of the controversy going on in some of the threads. I hope it is o.k. to post this link here for you all to maybe relax and enjoy. We (wife & I) do most of our boating on a river though we usually only frequent the first few pools of it. Last weekend we took a holiday and floated our boat the entire length of the river to the confluence of the Ohio River and had a real nice time enjoying the scenery and the camaraderie of our fellow boaters. An amazing build at another boat park (some call them "cemeteries") - This one will need a flood to get out?..... Just look at the size - all in steel?

 

Looks like another waste of good materials......

 

Looks like it's designed for deep rough water. Just look at the twin daggers and deep mono-hull.

You you properly call those twin keel daggers?

 

I thought they were bilge keels.

 

All I can think of is that "launching video" a week or so ago and wonder about the launch of this one (about 40 boats need to be moved first????) and will the water be deep enough for it to get clear of the "Deception Bay mud flats"? google earth -27.108016 S lattitude, 153.017054 East longitude after setting 'googleearth' to decimal degrees - - The space shown is no longer there - the yard is "chocker-block", jampacked full....

 

I saw a launch video not long ago of a boat that looked remarkable similar to this one
it nearly sank
thing has a serious list to it and was well bellow waterline
tragic
someone spent a million + and it dam near sank
some genius got his numbers all wrong on that one

Here is aboat I noticed on my way to work this morning.
Ready for a long cruise. Dingy painted in the same blue as the mothership.

 

On the Winnipeg River (90 km NE of Wpg)

This is the new record in Canada .

He caught it on the Winnipeg River, by the Seven Sisters power plant , in Manitoba. Check this thing out. The last picture is unbelievable. This guy was fishing and caught a 36lb Pike. As he was reeling it in, a 56 lb. Pike tried to eat it. He brought them both in on the same net. Awesome catch on a river in Canada 55 lbs, 56 inches. It goes to show you that live bait works the best for the giant fish.
