no Ric, it was one I stupidly I built on spec, , dumb, nobody wants million dollar boats they all want 50 m yachts, luckily a man from Gold Coast bought her, just before I was abt to mortgage my house I then sailed her from NZ, and looked after her gratis for 6 years She is now somewhere sailing in Malaysia
the Lloyds boat was only 40 feet Nimbus is 54

    yes, 17000 man hrs
i did all the metal, all the ss work, wiring, design of cockpit, , took years of my life
i commissioned Mummery in NZ for design, sea solutions in Runaway bay converted the lines to CAD for me
tankage is 1500l fuel, , 7500kg lead in scheel keel
I tried the NA market, it is hard going to break into any market

It is something you can no doubt take a lot of pride in.

My real toys are much more complex and required many more hands. They are also much uglier than Nimbus but anything you put a lot of time into takes on its own meaning.

I would love to have your welding skill. How do you go with 3mm plate?

3mm, fine, key is fit up
then when you have fit up, weld becomes fast, fast means less heat, less heat , less distortion
welding is just part of it
, do you have a skype thing, msn? or such
I am rather excited I may have found company China, , I teach them al al , they fit out boats, , charge out rate is 6.6 US an hour
really we have , here , priced our labour out of the equation it is not that , men, are not entitled to good wage, but that, they come to work, late, drink coffeee and spend half the day on the cell phone, that drove be bonkers when I built Nimbus
Enough here, , ciao, I am cooking

I never managed to play anything else than a mediocre chess... I wouldnt have been able to play the violin in 3000 years! :)
I am proud of the two other pictures, though...( and of my son, of course...) I caught the birds flying just in a fraction of a second, and so I did for the swan/duck duetto...

While my face is not familiar to you, some of my work may
be. Those that have followed F1 racing over the years have
seen many of my pictures. I made my way through life as
a free lance photographer. Mainly racing, a lot of F1.

Later I was a photo touch up editor for a small local magazine.

    PlayBoy! :p :p :p
