Yep, sorry, looking at the screen through beer gogles. Local quality Marina here in aus are around $500/ month for 11m cat. I suspect the far east sailor rip off is in full swing in thailand.

If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth!

The summary of this (and another popular) thread:

If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

    Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels
    (1897 – 1945)
(Adolf Hitler's Propaganda Minister in Nazi Germany).

This quote well describes the 'claims' and 'questions' of anonymous posters...

    marina charges

Unfortunately is a real number . Temporary is very expensive and about 3,200 THB / day , just less then 100 US$ . More VAT . More water and electric . There is a fix charge on these as well .

If paying 2,000 US$ for the membership of the boat , can get a discount of 40 or 50 % , i don't remember exactly . If pay one year in advance then there is a discount of 1 month and so on .

Other discounts are foreseen for the owners of the apartments . But unfortunately the charges are very high , even if compared with Phuket .

Only Marina in Pattaya . Little choices , high prices . This is the equation .

    prices in Thailand

    Marina charges are higher ; a Mercedes S 500 costs 500,000 US$ in Thailand .

Cigarettes are cheap . Beer is cheap . Gas is cheap . A boatboy for your boat is only 200 US$ a month . A maid in house is the same amount .

    A good Tiki 38 is only 165,000 US$ . In Australia would cost 300,000 US$ .

I suspect you don't know what you are saying ; offending a country without knowing just nothing of it ...i have then been ripped off many times in your country , what should i say ?. As i paid for a shity hotel 150 US$/night . In Thailand a better one costs 50 US$

Ocean Marina is a good marina, but not so cheap, and also very full now, so they quite expensive...actually to keep the boat on the hard there is quite cheap, maybe only $500-$1000 USD a month I think.

A 100$ rate per day is a rip off...........no matter where it happens......period.
By comparison, my annual rate for a 27 meter berth in the newest and most luxury Marina in Germany is 4.750€!
    Regards

    marina charges

Ok , please say which is the Marina - newest and luxuriest - in Germany , you pay 395 Euros a month for an 88 foot , so a huge 4.5 Euros/foot .

Name and address please . I got the telephone and i can check , in case move some boats overthere :p

In Italy in the cheapest and shity place i know , we are talking of 3,000 Euros/month .

    An 88' ......

In Genova costs 300 euros a month to park a car .

    just checked

I just checked in the UK . for an 88' it is very difficult to find a mooring , unless you got one -purchased - .

    Anyway they asked 80 pounds/meter . 2,160 pounds/month for a 27 meters .

    ===

    So then :

    80 pounds/meter is 3,920 Baht / meter / month .

Now the Tiki 38 is 12 meters ( about , but calculated 12 meters by the Marina authorities )

Then would be 47,920 Thai Baht / month , but the catamaran pays double so then 94,080 Thai Baht / month .

So then divided into 30 days : 3,136 Baht/day . More some extra charges and the taxes .

    Exactly as in Thailand .

    Numbers .... no words .

Cool down mate and rethink your behaviour. Before you compare apples and oranges, do a serious investigation and do´nt look in GB to compare with D.
So, if you improve your manners, and request for information instead of query someones statements, I might give you the name of my marina.
And to make the list a bit longer:
72ft in Istanbuls best marina is 11.000€ p.a.
152ft during F1 week in Port Hercule, Monte Carlo, is (due to a wellknown disadvantage) 850$ day.
So, 100$ for a 12m boat in a country with possible wages below 200$ / month is a rip off.period
BTW 88ft berth does´nt mean 88ft boat, the boat is a 72ft only, but berthed side to.

    apex1:
There is only one marina in Pattaya area and prices are quite high. It costed me 600$ for 3 days for 87' multi few years ago. Marina is full and they do not really welcome visiting yachts. For members and long-term stay prices are very different.

So what are You trying to prove? Send inquiry to the marina about parking fee, before making childish noise in the forum.

To which marina shall I send my enquiry? Childish noise? I argued about a marina rate.

Its Ocean Marina. You can argue about rate with marina management. Tell them they are ripping-off visiting boats! :)

    marina charges

ok , so we don't have the name of the cheap Marina of Germany :D

i don't know why , but i suspected this would have happened .

About the other places , please notice that i am not born in Thailand but in Genova and worked for years in Monte Carlo Monaco . a 152' pays 850 US$ during the F1 .... this is the ******** of the year . I worked there , main harbour and in Fontvieille , i worked on the Poupeti in the main harbor just opposite the swimming pool ; i lived aboard in Monaco for 3 months .

so you know how much pay a visitor in Monaco ?? ( For a 152' some Saudi Arabians probably pay 10,000 US$ just as a gift to the Harbor Master , as it is booked 3 years in advance ) . ANYWAY the first nigh costs 1 Euro .
This is called welcome pier , for yachts to rest one night .

Your datas are based on fantasy .

I said Genova and not Germany . Genova is my home town ;)
