hi all, my name is Mahmoud El Sayed El Naggar,
3rd year, Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering student,

i was just wondering if i have completed my French language course by my graduation date,
would that be effective for me?
i mean, would it offer me better job opportunities or post-graduation ones?

    Hi Mahmoud,

Being able to speak another language or two is always, always a valuable asset. Fluency in French opens up significant parts of Europe to you, as well as parts of Africa and Canada.

But nobody will care that you have a French course on your transcript- what matters is whether you can comfortably use the language in technical and business communication. (I have eight years of French courses, but don't actually use the language often enough to be able to comfortably use it in the business world.)

As - Salāmu `Alaykum السلام عليكم Mahmoud Bey,

if you´re planning to move to the Cote d´ Azur (there are many NA´s) it is a great advantage. If you are going for a job in the leading Yacht industry (Dutch and German) it might be better to learn German instead. There is nearly no (top) Yacht industry existing in France.
But as Matt mentioned, every second language, or more, is a big plus in our globalized world.
    Salaam

    Regards
    Richard

I learnt french at school, it is a very handy language,
If a fairy Godmother said to me, what would be the greatest gift, I would say, MAKE ME MULTILINGUAL
Such people are far more interesting
