    Here it is:

    Ok, I have to admit...
When I saw it I felt pissed off like G. W. Bush in a shoe shop.

That yacht made me realize that most probably I'll never be able to make a rendering like that in my lifetime.
Both the yacht and the 3D rendering are looking RED HOT! I don't know if the guy who made it is a member of this forum but he's got my deepest respect for that job.

i agree... that is absolutely incredible. the multi-hull wave piercing hull form has always been very intriguing... but I've never seen it in such a beautiful package!

That is amazing. I dont even want to think of the effort that went into this. I know the guy's at NZ Yachts, really good company and i'm glad to see they have taken their wave piercing yachts to the next level!

    And it's getting worse...
There is a PDF file ready for download over there. There is a 3D model which can be rotated and zoomed at will inside that PDF file. And every single piece of the hull can be deactivated, so you can see the yacht both outside and inside.
    It is a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y Hyper-amazing!!!

Ok, that's it. I took a decision. I'm gonna buy me a flock of sheep and spend the rest of my life making cheese at some desert island...

my partner is close to that standard with only a years trying
Please PM me, with your email address I have a tool which you can have, I do not use it(incapable) but it is the best and may be of assistance

As for the yacht, well beauty is in the eye of beholder and to me this is not (a yacht) each to his own tastes

What I like about it is that it still looks like a rendering, with a bit of romance to it.

The textures and lighting are not to shabby either. There are many works in the boat-design members galleries which are comparable in my opinion.

I still use pen & ink with a wash of color gouche/watercolor for my architectural renderings, some people still respect the skill and art of the hand and brush.

And it will remain in the dreams of everyone except maybe one lucky russian oil billionaire.... or this Madoff fellow.... (same thing at the end of the day)

    Well...not in my dreams....

    Great rendering, nicely done.

The design is not so good....what are those big swoopy swirls for? Reminds one of a waterpark....in my book good design demands form to follow function. If there's no reason for something then get rid of it!

I think it must be her warp drives. She could never enter the hyperspace without them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :)

It's a semi-sheltered waters boat, the sort of thing we have been building here for rich Asian industrialists. Pity we can’t see the hull-shape and props/rudder design.

There's not a lot of crew friendly practical design for a 164 foot ship, everything functional is hidden.

These designs have terrible windage and are really compromised by the lofty modern hotel style superstructure. Low speed maneuvering is a nightmare when the wind blows.

The rendering would be much better with some figures in it to add life and scale which would ameliorate that sterile plastic look. Programs like Poser add photo-realistic human models very easily. So many designers are so enamoured with their creation that they forget that people are part of the package. They can learn a lot from land based architecture renderings of say a bank or a shopping mall, without a few figures it's sterile and inhuman.

Yes it reminded me a little of the sci-fi fantasy spaceship drawings that used to illustrate paperbacks. :)

    cheers

Oooh, this is SO true. Actually, some boats seem designed to navigate possibly with no humans aboard.

Looks like fun , but I think docking it would require a hand at the bow to help not smash the almost underwater float into the dock.

A bucket this size probably has a dozen hands , and a TV camera to observe with.
