    Boston-

I was sorely tempted by the Dragon class some years back. Ended up never owning one but still admire..

I was looking at these earlier today
    very nice
I particularly liked the deck house on the Estlander
but the old wallet does have some say in this plan
Ill be considering the availability of a standard production rig
    I can build the hull
but will end up buying all the rigging
and I dont want to build myself into buying custom

    its really close
the deck house is a little different but thats no big deal
what Im really looking for is those flawless lines and the availability of a standard production rig that someone somewhere is bound to be producing
as Ild be building from scratch

I like the post 25 rules hull
    is this your boat ?

I read that back in the day they nick named the sq meters
    "sailing toothpicks"
because the class had no restrictions on length to beam ratio's,
consequently they developed to a point were they were getting unseaworthy.
I am absolutely in love with the design though
and would love to find plans for a coaster, weekender
something with a slightly wider beam
and able to take the west coast sea's
in the end I want to coast up to the inside passage and spend the summer sailing round ketchikan
for now Im stuck in the lakes of Colorado
there is a little bird telling me that although these vessels are simply spectacular
Ted Brewers friendship sloop would be a safer bet in the Pacific
( ok its more like an Teridactile screeming in my ear, never take the Sq meter off shore lest a safety boat with a rescue teem is following me )

I was doing feasibility studies on the Brewer design
its a much bigger project ( 39' ) and would have to be built near its launch site and Ild have to pay storage on it
its a project that would have to wait

and Im itching to build something

    the Estlander would be trailerable
    and cheaper to build
I could build it right here in the back yard
and drag it back here end of the day or leave it out

for now Im day sailing Grandby
and the Estlander would be perfect

what I need is lines or plans for one designed as a coaster day sailor

And yet... Tre Sang was an ocean racer - and a winning one. ;)

    here here

    convince me
    go ahead :D
my soul is aching to slide into ketchican harbor in the Estlander
ready to take on all comers
Ild fly the biggest genoa jib wind would allow and dock that thing like Captain Ron

ok maybe minus the bad paint job and charter fam from the fifties

but that little bird is still singin
there is a lot to be said for a coarse and crew
Im just going to be coasting
( more like harbor hopping my way to ketchikan )
and also want ease of handling
in the fastest traditional sailor I can find
trailorable so that I can build her at home
and with at least some accommodations

I see in that pict that daiquiri sent along
( dam, now Im thirsty )
some one fitted a skylight were the sail hatch was
    nice touch
bet its long enough in there to sleep me six foot two in style
    stretched out
    looking at stars
    arm around the girl
listening to the patter of an evening shower
    and the ocean
    lapping at the hull

I am so itching to build something
for god sakes someone cough up some prints
