I settled on using a 440 in my upcoming project because I got a pretty good deal on a fresh rebuild, plus I don't go out enough to make up for gas cost by going diesel.

My question is, where the heck can I find exhaust manifolds and risers for this beast? I tried ebay, and found nothing. I'd prefer to get new ones from a company that has a decent supply. West Marine doesn't even carry them. HELP!!

True, but I got one for $2500 rebuilt- can't beat that with a stick. The low intial cost will come back to haunt me when I firewall the throttle LOL

Mongo75, You can't beat the Alum manifolds on the above post by USCGRET/E8. I bought most of my marine stuff from them for my 450HP Ford Sm Blk.
Price is'nt really that bad and you'll save up to 100#. Take alook at the Dividers and other cooling stuff too.

Good God those things are so outta my price range it even funny. They are nice, but man, they'll put a dent in my boat fund.

You may want to rethink what you are thinking of doing then. This marine stuff can be an expensive hobby. If you ever get the beast up and running, you'll crap your self when you find out how much gas they can eat in an afternoon.
From my past experience with a 21' jet boat pwered by a 460 Ford and before that, an 18' jet with an Olds 455.

Yes they are expensive. The cast iron Barr manifolds from Go2 Marine ($279.95) are only about $20 cheaper than the Alum. Headers from glenL. ($599 per pair) Seems to me, not a hard decision if you want "New".

I found used PCM cast iron manifolds for my Ford for about $100. Got a quote from an Austrailian Co. for $2400 for unpolished S.S. marine headers. Polishing was $300 more.

Jango- I thought they were $599 EACH hence my apprehension!!

Senior Chief- this is actually my third boat I'll be working on. Believe me, I know how expensive this hobby can get. My current Bayliner Saratoga with a hot 350 in it (rebuilt myself) will only get about 2mpg LOL. While I'd like to be able to afford a nice big boat in a slip, keeping boats "in my paygrade" and on a trailer allows me to enjoy fishing where ever I please, vice fighting it out on the hog boats.

Thanks again Jango- I'm definitely going with GlenL. Quick question though- to make them last longer, can I coat the water passages with paint or something to keep the saltwater from killing them? I plan on running fresh water cooling, but we know the salt goes through the manifolds
