My head is spinning. Has anyone had bad experiences with these engines. In the end the one with the least problems will be the one. Both dealers say their motors are the best, most reliable, most quiet, most smooth, most efficient, most I cant take it any more!!! So to all REAL motor users please help .

    Thanks

Thats sorta like asking ten American men what make of pickup truck or car is best. Gonna get opinions for and against each. Honda is excellent these days and Merc has a long distinguished history.

I'd look at price, warranty, and prevelance of certified (for warranty work) mechanics for each in your intended area of operation.

Either would be a decent choice.

I think everyones head is spinning. This question or very similar is frequently asked with no real answer. There will be as many yeahs and nays.

Its very easy to be misled by some one that had a simple failure at a most inconvenient time and gone over the top with his critisism. Its only to be expected, but its not constructive or usefull.

I would buy from a good dealer with good turnover of engines and a good friendly workshop and fascility.

    best engine

Take a look at the dealers/repair facilities in the area you intend to use the boat. If it does break, you want to be near someone that has parts or can fix it. If it is about equal it comes down to taste. Do you like silver or black better?

I wouldn't buy another Honda because of a warranty issue we are having with them
