Timgoz - ropework mainly cos I was highly strung (or should be, sez Jack), bit of canvas work to go with it and would you believe some navigation (chartwork and pilotage mostly) always getting lost so they thought I was the ideal guy for the job!;)

Hovercraft - another thing the Brits invented and don't do much with! (still got the oldest hovercraft service in the world - Isle of Wight to Portsmouth)

Lots of other things too - aircraft carriers, soccer, rounders (our girl scouts/guides play this the ******* call it baseball!) cricket (yeah honest but why just beats me!) to name a few!!

There were two American inventors with full sized hovercraft (one person hovercraft) operating at the same time the Brit's made their claim. The Brit's only had a small working model and a theory which the UK military kept burried in the basement of a building for several years before acting on it. With the weight of the govenrment behind them the backyard American inventors were bought out for less than $100,000. They just did not have the resources of the British govenment and so history forgets them.

Come now Kachi, we all know that the USA is a great source of 'inventors' who 'claim' to have got there first...I cite the great MacDonald Haggis in a Bap (US version McDonalds Burger); the McWright Brothers - Hamish and Lachlan leaving the pub when their wives peered through the window - US version 'Manned Flight'...The Jacobite's burning the city of York - US version domestic lighting...and finally from down under - the Ugg Boot....Need I continue... :)

Hard to follow mate, but I think I can follow what you wrote, but just a tiny bit.

One day I'm going to write a book about my life and do some story boards and then take my life story to Hollywood. I'll be the underdog with the "big idea" that makes it big, unlike my real life where I get the shaft.:D

I'm not big on the wrong people getting credit for other peoples ideas and work, sorry if I get too serious sometimes.
