I'm still sticking to Cape Town, Guillermo, tell you why. During my days in the Royal navy (when the UK had a base at Simonstown) I had a girlfriend who lived up on the Kloofnek. Spent many happy hours wandering around the waterfront. Years later in my travels I pulled into Duncan Dock for a week or two. Definately Cape Town - Don't care what Wyand N says....


As for yours Guillermo... come on, give us a chance. Apart from the overcast sky it could be my local beach here in NSW. Think you should at least add a 'distinctive' building...

 

OK. Here's a clue: The beach is in an island, which protects a natural bay. People in the region are said to come from the celtics. Local seafood is delicious and they have an sparkling white wine to match. It's been a poor region for a long time, forcing its inhabitants to emigrate the world around.....:?:

Except for the sparkling wine, you could be speakin' of the wondrous Aran Islands at the entrance to beautiful Galway Bay, Guillermo, me boyo.

That seems too easy. Maybe, with a fair wind, the Celts sailed south across the Bay of Biscay (OK, Vizcaya), to Galacia, I have no idea which city or bay. Vigo, perhaps, (Fine Albarino wines)?

The place is the beach of 'Rodas' in the Cíes Islands, closing the Vigo Bay. One of my beloved places....
Now I have to guess where's the place in your photo. Loooked mediterranean to me at first glance, but now I'm not so sure. Still guessing.

Yes, it is part of he Victoria and Albert waterfront (commonly known as V&A) in Cape Town.

The little red building was the original Cape Town harbor control and a couple of hundred years old.

The place is Valletta, Malta. The dome is the Carmelite Church.

 

Good for you, nice going on the place! It's a view of Valetta from the north, from a boat in Marsamxett Harbour.

You were close on the dome, but it's the Carmelite Church, built in 1573.

 

While you were posting, I continued searching and realized it was the Carmelite Church and not St. John's, so I edited the post and corrected. The posting of my correction was a second after your post.

You have to realise that ole charm has a sense of humour more like a Brit, in fact I make him an honary one, but he is more polite then most Brits

Fate, Wyand N, pure fate. And I recommend a visit to anyone touring the area. The view coming into Cape Town from the sea is spectacular. It even beats Sydney (which is pretty awesome).
