So if the definition of swimming is being fully submerged. This mean a scuba diver is swimming but anyone moving on top of the water is not.

I am by no means an expert on definitions, but wouldnt a whale or something rolling on the surface be wallowing?---basking pehaps?

    Aquatic dancers? are they swimming?

Do fish swim ?--flying fish do --sometimes. So is it a bird when its flying?

Doesnt really matter,---I was just thinking aloud!!

There's only one government in the UK, but there is a Scottish Parliament, a Welsh Assembly and (as of May 8th) a Northern Ireland Assembly. They have varying amounts of autonomy and tax raising power, but the UK government has overall control of all regions in the UK. The Republic of Ireland is a totally seperate and independent country, with its own parliamentry system.

I haven't done extensive research, I admit, but I doubt the motion is thaqt different, considering the joints has limited ways of moving.

" This duck of your is it an aquatic duck? What colour is it?"

    It's brown, a she.

" What length on the water line, draft beam etc."

My best bet would be a LOA (from sternum to breast) of approximately 8 inches, 6 inches water line, the draft, with feet up approx an inch, with feet down, three inches. THe beam is around 4 inches. The lengthy fo'c's'le has a brownish attachment in two parts which it uses for foraging.

Another interesting fact is that 100 percent of named ducks are named by man.

From your photograph, I'd guess the draft with dual keel/rudder devices fully extended is closer to 4 inches. Their cross section is extremely narrow, and they are colored dayglo orange. The bow looks rather sharp. Could you, in fact, have a Class 40 duck?

Then you get the high visibility ducks. bright colors and all, designed especially for marshy, foggy areas.

Every thing about this duck is wrong. Totally unsuitable for life on the water.
Hollow bones for saving weight...feathers that 'repel' water...
This animal is made for flying not swimming. I find it insulting to have to share the sea with this duck. It is obviously unstable and liable to capsize, and colours its feet orange as a sop to safety.
Flying is unneccessary, and dangerous. Aquatic birds that fly, are trying to have their cake and eat it too.

    Signed Pingu.

LOL, yup, it's a freak of nature! What will happen if water gets through to those bones? Where's the ballast, and what the hell happened to self-suffiency! Does it _expect_ to be rescued at the slightest problem!? What's up with that?

Yup, but it's the cruising version.

Now this is the racing version:

Okay, you are all getting seriously off-topic. If you don't stop talking about ducks and football I am going to unsubscribe!
