colinhilton: Trailer Test for 8' POC

Design criteria include the deployment of USVs by a single operator, and here the catamaran is fitted to a stock 1.0 by 2.0 metre flatbed trailer. The cross-beams were reduced in length to suit the trailer, with 1.0 metre now the width between the outside edges of each ski. Upper spars were also extended to 2.0 metres to provide for a pair of pylons at the stern where motors can be mounted. In the alternative arrangement seen here, these pylons support a T-bar allowing motors to be inset to reduce the overall span: this is now 1.20 metres to the ends of the T-bar, which extend beyond each propeller disk. The same arrangement appears at the prow, where a pair of lift motors may be mounted in the same way, and in all cases the motors can be vectored from the hover toward the cruise by replacing the T-bars with full-span axles.
