colinhilton: Proof of Concept (10' build).
In the light of day there are more than a few mods that are unlikely to make the cut on the current POC, though lessons learned going forward. With the beam reduced to 42" to fit a trailer, the deck should have been reduced in proportion, having originally been one third of the total. Each of the pontoons might be reduced in height to nearer 12" than 16" at the same time, and the deck raised beyond mid-height. Meanwhile the trailing section of each hydro-ski support could be extended to match the length of the forward extension, increasing the length to 12' overall and rendering each sponson a reversible fixture. Finally the skis need no angle-section for attachment: here they have been screwed into the base of each pontoon, with a filet of silicone applied to secure. The skis are formed of 4" uPVC extrusions intended for skirting, with the chamfered edges fitted outermost.
N.B. The decision to fit separate lift and cruise motors means ~ with the latter not needing to be vectored ~ the cantilevered stubs at the upper rear have been removed for close-coupled fitment of these units.
