Robert Biegler: Hinged Bruce foiler model
The hinge point is too far inboard. The resultant force from the foil goes through the hinge at a shallow angle, and never rises enough to fully balance sail force. The boat therefore could heel enough in a gust that the hinge rotated beyond the point that most raised the foil's force.
