SailDesign: Design progression

It's nice occasionally to look back at a design, or a series of designs, and see where it started, and how it progressed. The upper boat is "Caracal", which was modelled after a patrol-boat hull I admired. Was going for a go-anywhere do-anything kind of boat - not overly fast but no slouch either. Fast semi-planing. The middle one is "Dilettante", similar speeds but a party boat. No huge accommodations, but plenty of space for "a few friends" to party well. With a couple of cabins below in case you were too partied out to drive home. No care taken to use all of the space for something necessary. The bottom one is "Coquette", where the concept of more power has been taken a bit further. Probably 6,000hp for a top speed close to 40 knots, or about twice the speed envisaged for the other two. But another party boat for sure. These are all 82 to 85 feet overall, with roughly similar displacements. With each generation, something changed. All rendered from the same angle, and all painted in the same colours (except Coquette's bottom) A little evolution to keep me amused.
