Tanton: Design No. 225 2

The photo is of a wooden 8 metre modern "British Cutter" built in Turkey. Three other boats have been designed in the same style and construction, with respective lengths of 9 metres, 10 metres (being built in California) and the longest at 10.62 metres is shown in the renderings.

One question from a person who knows little about sail boats. Is that extension of the shear at the stern just for aesthetics or is there some function?

Nice detail, and very good rendering.

The bumpkin is there for the protection of the rudder and windvane self steering system.
