SailDesign: Robert H Baker

This was one of my father's first designs, sadly not built until after his death. Built by the Rockport ApprenticeShop, Maine

That is a really elegant and beautiful boat and a wonderful photograph too!

Jeff, if I had kept the postcard I scanned it from, instead of sending it to my brother for his collection of Dad's boats, I would know which photog to give the credit to. And credit is due...
Dad drew that before he was 20, after reading Chapelle's "Speed under Sail" book. Talk about inspriation!

I inherited his bad spelling, too - apparently.
      That would be "inspiration"

      Gary,
Thanks, that was quite an admission... ;-P

It looks as graceful as a Friendship Sloop! Looks as if it came from the same family! Are the lines similar? CuleBreeze
    • SailDesign
CuleBreeze, I would have to say the lines are similar, but not much more.

All I can say is--it is simply beautiful! Are there DIY building plans available? If so could you give me the info as to how to get them at greg_lampton@yahoo.com. It would really be appricated, thanks.
