colinhilton: Backer Board Catamaran Shell

Use of pre-laminated tiler's backing board for monocoque centre-section which reduces the parts count (inset) to less than a quarter of the preceding methods. The material features EPS insulation foam bonded with fabric mesh and polymer cement in continuous process, removing much of the manual work involved in assembly. Depending upon the template (to follow) the centre-section can be left open (or lidded) to accommodate an operator, else closed as here in drone form to include battery-packs or liquid fuels. The assembly here comprises four panels of 6" by 36" and two end-caps of 6" by 24". These are to be connected to a post at each corner to support the booms and skis making up the running gear seen in prior posts. Substitution of 4' x 8' sheet material for 2' x 4' allows for a vessel doubled in scale at around sixteen feet in length, with few if any modifications to materials and methods outlined at www.teledrone.blogspot.com
