colinhilton: 8' Flat-Cat Static Buoyancy Test
Expectations confirmed in so far as the forward end of the flotation panels sit around three inches lower than the rear, while the C of G is located almost precisely at their mid-point with 1.50kg subbing for power-plants. There is not an undue issue as this raises the props clear of the water at the off and the craft can be expected to level once underway. The bar at the prow can be removed to save 0.3kg, and motors and ancillaries could be stepped backward. What you see here has not so much to do with weight distribution as the fact the buoyancy contained in wooden spars and foam skis is nearest the rear.
