Would it be easier to glass the stringers in using 3 separate pieces and over lapping them. 2 on fillets and one over the top
Well only did like front 3 feet with fibers. Definitely be easier not using them.
Sorry thought I could trust youtube.
Every video I watched for fillets added chopped strand. Thought it was importation to...
I'm cutting down some old cloth tape
It's not sagging. The fiberglass scraps are all joining together makes it hard to try and use one huge string especially when trying to smooth it out
I'm having lots of trouble trying to get the fillet resin mixture to be reasonable useable. Is there any (maybe not so widely approved) other...
I guess chiseling was the wrong word... I can pry the tabbing off the hull with my nail bar and use the nail bar to pull tabbing off in one piece
Has anyone ever experienced the old tabbing being able to just be chiseled off? Not sure if it's normal but makes for a lot less grinding.
Very informative thank you. I do plan on starting stringers tomorrow. I will be sure to reference this info as I go.
I got poly resin and 1708 cloth. It was my assumption that when making the fillet resin mixture that it needed to be the resin, hardener, cabosil...
So I need to order some- that's what you are saying? I guess I'm not sure of the difference between b using chopped glass and chopping my own.
Just realized I didn't order any chopped glass... is it logical to buy a repair kit and just cut the glass up to make the PB?
Now I gotta build a carport and put my tarp on it
Planned on using old stringers as jig. Making sure they are lined up where they will be true to the boat original shape. I have an idea how to get...
It tapers to nothing about 3 feet from transom. Just from the weight of new wood the hump is mostly gone. Just from my weight alone I can tell...
Currently I have the boat pulled backwards so I could cut the transom apart. I could lift it up and put it on something I guess. So you're saying...
Front profile back profile and interior of transom
How would I fix it then? If I put weigh on it the bump goes back down. Or should I just go back to being a failure at everything u attempt
Only issue I've seen is the bottom bellies up about the middle, but that could be because most the stringers are out now
