By no means! But I am positive I could do more than 3-4kn with a trolling motor :D
Thanks...I'll see soon...my main focus was stability. I could always go with a larger hp propulsion system for speed. I will post youtube vids of...
Here is my design goal
I did just that and weighted it down and let my kids create a tsunami in the bathtub. We couldn't get it to capsize or pitch pole...perfectly...
Thank you so much! You, sir, are a breath of fresh air! I guess I will call it a platform since only I see the boat :p At her full displacement...
I have a 60hp outboard/rudder I had planned to mount amidship but I have since changed to a hybrid electric pod with a large prop. Yes, I am fully...
Yes 3 inverted triangular pyramids or tetrahedra. 60 degree entry angle, 0-60 degree deadrise, and ~ 60 bow angle from vertical at waterline. All...
True...but I don't think I would get depth I desire....those 'legs' will be weighted at the points to lower the COG and also be fitted with small...
Please elaborate on your high wetted area comment... I have done my own stability analysis...tested models etc...once fitted and weighted, she...
It would be hard to compare it to a monohull of equal displacement as this boat is unconventional in all areas. At 3.5' draft this vessel...
Thanks! I too felt it would add stability at the expense of added resistance. The wetted surface area is much less with the open mid section however.
This design goes hand in hand with this theory of sliding through waves versus climbing them
Check out the sketch and also a boat with a somewhat similar design above...
Advice taken...thanks! No more predictions from me:!:
Here is a link to something similar I just found:http://www.graingerdesigns.net/oshunpro/oshunpro-concepts/bernie-s-concepts/ Attached pic is...
Thanks for the feedback...OP doesn't mind the critique! As I stated in my first post this is a very "unconventional" boat or moving platform (Is...
Well I don't know if theoretical hull speed formulas would work in this case but I envisioned based on the low weight, beam:draft ratio, fine...
Cruising heavy to me means handling and having the feel and stability of a boat three times its size and weight....it sits down in the water
Bow port side
Stern view is the same as port and starboard views...this is before I put sides on
