Ama to beam connection on trimaran - design help

Here are some pics from a performance trimaran build blog... Seems they used a lot of carbon and incorporated the sockets into structural bulkheads. This is from pt-11 tri build. Looks like a strong fast boat.

Transom hung rudder options - 50 ft catamaran

Phil, Things are very much under construction at the moment. I have the option to choose rudder setup. The transom has opening offset to side but has no swim steps and has a fairly vertical transom face.(only slightly raked). There is also seating aft for the helmsman as well as a winch...

Transom hung rudder options - 50 ft catamaran

Note : Tiller Steering Time to make some decisions regarding the rudders soon and reviewing the comments still seems undecided. Perhaps a renewal of comment will drum up some ideas... I like the semi balanced transom hung idea, albeit the question remains whether to make it removable or...

Charly, I have instructions for the crossbeam tang from engineer but It has not been built yet. as this tang is part of a bulkhead that attaches to hull before the crash bow section I did not need to install it yet. Male plug mold release questions? Advice needed..

Tunnels, Took us about a full month (with weekends off) from pva to 80% fairing work you see in photos. We will surely try and do better than that for next hull but there are always surprises as you know... Trying to keep things moving along. Will be adding a member to team to focus on starting...

Male plug mold release questions? Advice needed..

Water/ air inlet construction How does one construct water/ air inlet points on the hull? Where are the best locations to mount these inlets? This image shows how far down the laminates go on the other side of plug. Just up until the wing deck joint.

Male plug mold release questions? Advice needed..

Note: because this is catamaran hull and there is wing deck attachment the laminates will only go down one side halfway where the wing deck will later join. Only one side will have laminates going all the way to shear line you see in photos. Will this help facilitate release from plug somewhat?

MM, This male plug is being used to build the actual part/hull. I am not creating a female mould for this is a one off project. This is similar technique used to build one off racing sailboats. Any additional advice on some pull point construction tips etc? L

Male plug mold release questions? Advice needed..

I am about a day or so away from layup and am feeling a little anxiety about getting a good release from the plug. I am using a male plug that was sheathed with ply and csm and then finished with gelcoat surface. *This surface was sanded to 600 grit wet and then compounded and buffed. *Next we...

Gross Profit margin for a production Catamaran

In general, there is a 400-500% markup above actual build costs for "most" production boats. Certainly higher volume manufacturers have a little less as they focus on volume and have there dealerships price accordingly. Been privy to the actual "books" and seen these figures firsthand. Good luck.
