    Building a balanced spade rudder

Hi I want to try and build a new rudder for a 28ft sailboat. Current rudder has core damage and delamination - not too hard to fix, probably will fix it but I thought I will try to make a better rudder than the stock one. Current rudder is very fat - about +5mm extra material on rudder tube...

    Add-on foils or trim tabs

Wondering if anybody has tried adding something like that to cruisers? Many extend their aft to get some extra LWL length + access to water. Why not add foldable trim tabs to a sailboat? Some extra feet but no extra mooring cost?

    Add-on foils or trim tabs

    Add-on foils or trim tabs

    Casting vs Laminating Resin

Dude, if you want to build wooden bath then Dont use any chemicals to "waterproof it". There are many reasons not to do this: - bad for your health! -looks bad! -wooden barrel expands when you put water in it, so it fills the gaps. Me and my friends use this kind of barrel every...
