    boat with submarine at bottom

Yup, its a Google AI special. The funniest bit was the four complaints I made to "it" about the image being "twisted", and it finally acknowledged that it couldn't fix it. And, thats after how many billions of dollars invested ???? :-)

    boat with submarine at bottom

Yeah, but there are no observation windows in normal swaths. Thats the whole point :-)

    boat with submarine at bottom

If you excuse the crazy angles of a SWATH created by AI, this sort of thing ?

Flettner Rotor for small craft - Design and Build Prototype

Darnn. I thought you had made it better, but unfortunately, you got the same problems as me. Dialogue boxes and adverts obscuring the conversation Thanks for trying though :-) Edit - I will put a reference link to the problems I had trying to save an AI "conversation", for future reference...

Flettner Rotor for small craft - Design and Build Prototype

Following on many months after the two biggest challenges to any project, Health problems and Enthusiasm, I tried an interesting exercise. Not being willing to spend a fortune on Engineers yet, I thought I would run my "mast" concept using Google AI, to discuss the practicality of using a...

AI in Boat Design - Result Storage Tip

I've just had a mixed result in asking AI questions about my project. ( https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/flettner-rotor-for-small-craft-design-and-build-prototype.67600/page-2#post-970894 ) For the last couple of weeks, I have been casting around for some engineering advice on my idea of...

    Rocker Bottoms

Huh? You just need the stern rocker to curve up until water level is reached. Everything above that can be vertical, for mounting an outboard.

    Rocker Bottoms

The shape is efficient enough for a powered hull, but you mention rowing. If you are going to spend a significant amount of time rowing, the flat stern will be very "draggy", and slow you down. Its a function of how much time you expect to be travelling over say 8-12 knots.

    "WaterCar" - Amphibious power boat

True. With a top speed of 25mph, you wouldn't want to go on any major road. Driving 100 metres or so to where your car is parked from a busy ramp could be handy though, I find the "no trailer" option very attractive

    "WaterCar" - Amphibious power boat

Huh? That "JEEP" looking thing is NOT the product. If you actually watch the video, its just a comparative object. The BIG picture is the actual craft.

Flettner Rotor for small craft - Design and Build Prototype

Big Step. A good value boat of the right dimensions for this project came up for sale, so I plunged in and bought it. After a lot of thought, I have managed to dream up a potential layout for the rig, including provision for trailering setup. In the bottom left corner of the "sail" plan, I...
