DESIGN AWARD:

SUNSEEKER / FABIO BUZZI
DECEMBER 2000 AWARD

Superhawk XS2000

One of our very first Awards went to Fabio Buzzi Design for their revolutionary high-performance RIBs, and we have been watching the evolution of this design ever since. Likewise, from the first time we saw Sunseeker's Superhawk series to the current day, we are always pleasantly surprised by their high quality, robust yet exotic performance cruisers.

So it was inevitable that when Sunseeker and Fabio Buzzi came out with a sleek hybrid 38' 70-knot pleasure-raceboat we would take notice.  The XS2000 is an interesting fusion of Fabio Buzzi's race-proven technology and signature lines and Sunseeker's sensual yet always unique curves.  The sleek and narrow twin-stepped hull is eye pleasing, yet at the same time, looking at the design always reveals a tangent or two to what was initially expected.  Features such as an anti-stuff nose, a unique low-sided cockpit design and windscreen console, no strakes behind the aft step,  and Trimax drives are just a few things which set the XS2000 apart from other boats at the dock
