We need a lot more! Thanks to those who have contributed so far; if you haven't yet, please give the Boat Design Wiki a try and submit an article or two.

How to Get Started

Use the search box to the LEFT to search for existing topics. If a boat design topic is not already in the wiki, the search results page will give you the option to then create that topic.

The MediaWiki software uses different syntax for creating links and including images than the code used in the forums, but it's easy to pick up within a few minutes. Consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.

Don't be afraid of the markup language! If you don't want to figure out the formatting, just click "Edit" and start writing. Someone else can clean it up later; for now, we want knowledge- and lots of it!

What is wiki.boatdesign.net?

The Boat Design Wiki is currently in the beta testing phase. The idea of this "wiki" is to provide a collaborative knowledgebase relating to all things boat design and boat building. The Forums will remain the key location for active discussion, but the Boat Design Wiki will complement the forums by providing a collaborative article database where members can work together to create a database of information organized by topic.

All Boat Design Forum Members (with at least 5 posts on the public forum) are welcome and invited to help build the Boat Design & Boat Building Wiki. Thank you to all who contribute to this Wiki for helping to start this new addition to Boat Design Net, and thank you for your continued involvement with the Boat Design Net community as a whole as we have grown so rapidly these past few years with our Boat Design Forums and Gallery.
