I think it's time to start a new 3D-CAD aproach, because since Acrobat Reader 8.1 it is possible to involve 3D-Documents in PDF files.

Dear Alex.

Now days we organise the exchange process in a little other way. Try this link http://www.archnav.de/PCM-Manholes-5...2_Binder1_.pdf . The different is that there is no external link for the 3D-CAD models. All is packed into one 3D-PDF container.
