The boats looks nice and neat - minimalist, but why took out the transom? Norwegian fjord water is cold right ?

Thanks, yes the water is normally 15 degrees (celsius), sometimes it can be 20 degrees in the fjords. The transom is optional :-) I think we will make a removable transom also.

Do you know if many of these Backman 18's have been built? The design looks nice and the boats are quite light so they seem like a good thing.
