Actually Rasco your post is (respectfully) somewhat misleading, as the initial design concept was born from Marc Ginisty, whom has designed no less than 7 ocean row boats. This design started with some of those concepts (a more enclosed rowing cockpit, and taller cabins than the Woodvale boats for instance), and incorporated other proven design concepts, coupled with modern design tools and construction materials and techniques. And more importantly the troubles, failures, and mishaps of ocean rowing expeditions have been researched,considered, and mitigated with this design.
