Nice unstayed sail........ what is the blue plastic on the sail? Solarcells?

The double ply sails are shaped with foam inserts to come near a true thick wing behind the free standing, turning mast.

I see...... it made it more rigid in a sense thus more power improve.

These are the sail I would like.......... good sail to have

On the Magie Noire sail plan, also posted at Boat Design Net. There is a drawing at the bottom, showing the geometric idea behind the concept. Alain Chapoutot, the instigator of the idea and sail maker, made the sails. I also designed, for the same owner a project for an 85 footer in the same style.
