MikeStrasbaugh: MV United States

To keep the look of a true oceanliner, i have redesigned my superliner design for a new United States. The design underwent a massive overhaul to make her shorter, sleeker, and true to form for what the real definition of an oceanliner is. The MSUS(2)'s length has been reduced to 1,290 feet, her upper decks of balconies have been removed and her funnels have been decreased in size (not height) to allow for much easier clearance for the VerrazanoNarrows Bridge in New York. The ship would retain her hull balcony cabins from her previous designs, while foregoing the balconies above in her superstructure. The ships design, which was based very heavily from the famous SS United States, is more apparent in this arrangement. The MS United States would certainly turn heads! The design certainly shows what an oceanliner COULD look like in the 21st century had balconies not been an almost necessity for the modern traveler. Who knows, maybe one day a time will come where ships will have their own identity once more instead of the cookie cutter cruise ships we have sailing today. Design Copyrighted
