Karsten: Bondi 36 rudder blade

The rudder blade of the Bondi 36. The stock was laminated around a CNC machined foam core. The core was geometrically the most complicated part of the boat since it had to follow the shape of the rudder profile with a variable offset along the length of the stock. The stock laminate is thickest at the lower hull intersection and tapers towards the blade tip. The whole carbon rudder weights 10 kg and is strong enough to survive a stall at 15 knots.
