DSS foils develop about 14% of upwind RM and over half the righting moment downwind. They can be easily removed for very light conditions or for trailering.
Partially complete model of the 14' Crossbow. The boat is designed to be an exciting,but safe boat for disabled and/or physically restricted sailors allowing planing off the wind with an asy spin, DSS and the Trapwing ballast system. See the thread "Crossbow fl" under the "Sailboats"
