The plywood wing keel prototype has been moved back 8" to improve the balance by moving the Center of Lateral Resistance (CLR) aft
and still have enough excessive area left so that it can be cut away as needed to
achieve as perfect a balanced
helm as possible. The 4" x 4" piece on the bottom was reshaped to reduce resistance while keeping the same lateral area.
