This is a picture demonstrating where the bow strip was removed and the location where it was attached under the boat with really large bolts that ran through a supporting member inside the boat I'll show in a later photo.

Also in one of the first pictures I uploaded, one can see the bow strip in tact and where it butted against the keel. I had no idea those huge bolts were there until I removed the bow strip.
