It is seldom that a customer requests an ultimate stability of over 145 degrees, so it has been a long time since I have designed an aluminum 51' cruising sailboat with a centre of gravity well below the waterline.

The resulting hull is therefore heavier, deeper and narrower compared to the light, very beamy, shallow bodies of most recent boats.
