PAMA: ALTAIR 70 -Yacht with wings

A 70 ft motor yacht in fiberglass with 5 kw photovoltaic systems. The central idea of the whole work has been based on the desire to combine an aesthetically competitive form with the use of photovoltaic modules. The study of birds that go under water for food and fish that fly in the air has been referred to constantly throughout our work. A yacht with wings. A hybrid idea, a connecting point between the sea and the sky. A boat below and a plane above. But the wings in this project are not needed for flying but for increasing the photovoltaic module surface, thus having a higher quantity of energy available. Obviously, the wings will be closed while the yacht is sailing but when it is moored the photovoltaic wings installed in the central superstructure can be opened and those in the bow can be raised. The photovoltaic systems can function whether the yacht is sailing or not in any set-up. When the yacht is moored, the fore wings can be raised so as to have, If desired, two comfortable, reserved areas sheltered from the sun and fitted out with tables and sofas. Concerning the lower deck, we have developed a modular scheme which can be subdivided into three blocks: ABC: each module has two versions, thus there are innumerable ways of furnishing each one, so satisfying the many different demands of the owners. In this way, it is possible to change and personalize the space if it is required for personal use. The modularity and the wide range of indoor fittings are the key points of the whole project.
