I really like this companionway.



I don't think its worthwhile sinking winches into the deck -- just leads to overrides and limited lead opportunities.

These are both for a double ended mainsheet, and the lead to the winch is from below deck through the recess to the winch, so overrides do not happen easily in this arrangement. This boat does not use winches for anything else.
