Question: What are those hatches on the sides for? Storage? Perhaps make 1 a liferaft compartment which pops the liferaft out when opened.

Yes, I figure the starboardside locker could be used for a life raft, and other saftey gear. I would be happy to send you more drawings of this design if you are interested.
