Divertente sail-boat concept 2008

(Tero Saari, Lasse Oiva , Franziska Sammler)

This is a project made on a boat design course at Lahti Institute of design in Finland. It is a 42-feet daycruiser with features such as lifting deck/roof and excentric mast. Main focus was to give the user as much free deck-space as possible. The boat was modelled with Rhinoceros 4 and rendered with v-ray. Little photoshopping happened also for the presentation pictures

Very nice rendering, but a design nightmare. That rig cannot be made without weighing much too much and massively overstressing the hull.
