| wooden decks Thought I would post an example of replacing a teak deck with a mahogany deck. We restored the complete boat (excluding engines), and thought the deck before and after may be of interest. The boat is a 1990 Kavalk SportCruiser 29', and we lucky enough to be in business long enough to restore our older boats. Hopefully you can guess which is before... | What was that teak veneer layed in on the original deck? It appears the caulk lines held up fairly well, but the goo that held the teak, not so much (typical). |

| The teak decking was 1/4 " sawn held by epoxy and white epoxy seams. As the teak wore , the seams did not. Once the teak was 1 / 16 " the owner chose to sell rather than replace the teak. The boat was outside for 3 years uncovered but the seams held as well as the epoxy underneath. Current Kazulin teak deck with epoxy saturated burnt maple seams. |

| Hi NRG: Not meant to be a show off, but will take that as a compliment... We get phone calls for people working on their decks or boats, and are usually very forward with answers. Take care |
