What the FAQ does this mean......

I paid for this gem:
Quote:
Respacing of Floors:

If we go to the maximum spacing of 25”, the siding of the minimum floor without the bolts used in way of the ballast keel to tie the floors to the structural keel with the same total sectional area as the bolts tying the ballast to the structural keel, then if we assume the minimum siding given above (1-7/16), the minimum molding would be 4-7/8”.

I understand the terms but the bolts to floor relationship seems to make no sense. I have the nominal figures to fall back to. ( which are self explanatory)

After many rereadings and the passing of days I do not understand this at all and have asked the author to
rephrase. (please) Just why do N.A.'s provide laymen with such language?

Says that at 25" spacing, the siding (thickness fore and aft) is 1 7/16" plus the diameter of the bolts, and the molding (up and down) is 4 7/8". It sounds impressive though
