Hi, Yes among the many books I've acquired over the years, very old and new, here's one that out shines them all. "Details of Classic Boat Construction" by Larry Pardey 1999. He spells out completely how to do whatever. Every other book is generally vague. For those people I think they're just looking to sell a book. Pardey's book is available on Amazon. It deals with planking and hull details for a traditional wood boat. I understand that he is working on a sequel geared towards painting and refinishing. I'm at that stage in my restoration where I'm ready for the sequel book. Cheers, Scott

Bud McIntosh's book "How To Build A Wooden Boat" is also quite informative.

Hi again, just thinking of a few more that have personally been helpful. Wooden Boat Magazine has a collection of fifteen 120 pg books called The Wooden Boat Series. Each one addresses a specific topic with a simple right to the point explaination and photos. Three that I've bought and refer to are Planking & Fastening, Frame, Stem & Keel Repair, and Painting & Varnishing. Each goes for $24.95. They can be had directly from WoodenBoat Books, PO Box 78, Naskeag Rd., Brooklin, Maine 04616 or on Amazon.com. On Amazon you should be able to buy some copies for less than list. Scott
