Well boat carried to cottage where it will be used.
Fits perfectly on my car top, but to put it on help is needed.

First impression: Wow how easy it runs ... ant turns as well :). But run straight is not a problem. Besides bottom at the moment absolutely flat withuot any rails.

Bottom planks screwed in place, gunwales fitted and everything painted from outside.

Because it was not possible find any quality board for gunwales, I made them from two plywood strips cut about 3 cm wide. Glued with epoxy and that looks quite strong.

Almost finished. One more layer of paint , some styrofoam for flotation ant seat top left.
First i was thinking about locker under the seat, but as water is dangerous I decided to do as it must be.

Is this bad idea to fill volume under seat with mounting foam? Or better fill it with styrofoam for flotation?

    Nice little boat Mikas.
Very low drag at very low speeds I'm sure. I'd be looking for more "wheelbase" to put in automotive terms. Think of a bit more like a double ended "johnboat". But obviously not needed w one person aboard. I would have bent the plywood more toward the ends. Yours is a nicer looking boat though and more easily driven. But I'll bet it's like 1/30th of a HP v/s 1/50th of a HP.
Re the foam flotation I'd put it in the ends. Make access "lids" on either side of the top of the mid-seat for water, anchor gear, lunch and perhaps a beer.

There are no place to put flotation chambers in the ends. Only behind the seat.

SO make a place for flotation at the ends of the boat. .....Or if you are confident that you will never, ever, need to right the boat from capsized condition, then there is no need. If you somehow fall out of the boat, will you be able to get back into it without some positive end flotation??? You can crawl into the boat from the sides, of course, but then you will need some positive flotation at both sides, such as tanks.

Aside from those admonitions, you have done a nice job with the little boat. Be careful, wear your life jacket unless the pond where you go fishing is only knee deep.
