In case we get lucky. What part of what state do you live in? A owner may not have plans, but let you photograph and measure up his boat.

I am not doing well. No return calls on left messages. Plan B, Get on the APBA-- ACBS-- websites, and get their show schedules. Make your plans accordingly. At boat shows, people respond much better than a impersonal phone call from a stranger.

That approach makes good sense. I will get on that tonight. Thank you for your generous help.

Ventnor in Greece

Hello Tangusso
I found such a boat laying in a field accidently last year. The boat must be througn. I have taken lots of pictures of it, as it took all my interest. It has twin engine bay and four excaust holes on the stern. Most of the upper deck and engines are missing but the hull is all there.

Ventnor Plans

Hello all,
I too am searching for some old Ventnor hydroplane race boat plans. The 225 CI class is perfect for what I want. The 225 ventnor was about 18 foot long with sponsons located on each side of the bow. Most of the plans that are floating around are from the Arno Apel patent and not drawn to scale. As well, plans from scale models won't work because they have been redesigned for model boat speeds which are far faster than the real boats when calculated for scale size (~60 mph for a 48 inch hull).

In the perfect world I would hope to find any Ventnor hydroplane (real boat) and rebuilt it. Does anyone know of one that may be for sale?

Thanks,
Scott

Seeking plans

Hi all,

This thread may be totally dead, but in case it's not, I am also looking for Ventnor 225 plans. I've heard about a guy in Canada who owns an original, and am trying to get in touch with him about taking the lines. Anybody ever have any luck? I know there are some partial plans floating around, but I believe the only complete set is actually a set of plans for My Sin (625 cubic inch class Ventnor plane) that has been shrunk down, which is definitely not what I want.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you all found out.

Thanks,
Sam
