| I do not see a real problem in stripping a piece of firewood, and use what you can use. Apperently much new material has gone into the job. One of my customers "restored" an old racing sailboat, which was WAY beyond any repair. Just some pieces of stringer were used, and the piece of keelson which had the registration number stamped. The whole approach was building a new boat, and reusing these small pieces of (still good quality) wood. The rest was for the most part not even worth to blast through the chimney.

| Some History between boat joke and amazing work Somethink about this projekt Most often people think that can´t be serious when they see a projekt of mine in the startingtime. For many people it is difficut to see the finished projekt in theire mind. Steeling with my eyes I found the old Fritz Taars boat and thought of it for many years . + Also I saw pics of a fine upholstery for somekind of boat like this. So i combined both ideas as a joke As I found the pice of dirty black old boat nobody wanted it and the owner would have burned it. The diameters I thought can fit Cutting the rotten end of the boat the diameters would be aprox 115 % of the Taars boot , Now Friday I hope to finish the deck (The flanks will be done the way we see on the pics.) and make dummies for the upholstery. It is no amazing work, it is a´fast job with compromises and some cheap materials in short time build. Next Friday/Saturday will be weekend nr 6 , so the totalamount will be 12 days with a "helping hand" Enjoy the pics. |
