Nipissing Cedar Outboard Boat

Hi, I have just acquired a 13' 1960 cedar strip Nipissing outboard fishing boat I intend to restore. The problem is the deck area has been replaced with a piece of 1/2" plywood (painted pastel blue!). I would like to rebuild it as per original but can't find an example to use as a pattern. Would you know of any examples or know how to treat this area. Thanks, Dan
