Newbie here has a question about a Dingy Thank You for letting me become of member here.. I am a power boater who has gone back to his roots as a sail boater. Now retired I have quality time to spend on Lake Erie. I have found a Woodie Penn Yan 8 ft Dingy hanging in a barn for over 30 years Should I decide to buy I'd like to be able to use this beauty as a tender periodically while my O'Day sailboat is on her mooring. It is canvas covered is decent condition with some paint cracks marbled here and there. I thought of cleaning with a detergent bucket of soapy water to get rid of the years of dirt, dust, and bird nests. I'll try to post a pix or two. Any ideas? Boating is not a matter of life or death, it is more important than that. Need to learn how to post a pix here...????????? hummmmmm

| Welcome aboard, Chuck ![]() Western Lake Erie, you say... Canuck or Yank? Cleaning that dinghy of yours is gonna take some work, no doubt, but if you like the boat it's always worth it. Pictures would be great. There's a button on the compose-message screen somewhere that says "manage attachments" or something like that, that's where you upload photos.

Welcome Chuck, I grew up in Euclid OH just east of Cleveland. Did my first picture attachment today. Just like mentioned above, there is a "manage attachments" button. It was very simple & straight forward to do. Scroll down on the post reply page and you will see it. Do not use the quick reply but hit the "post reply" button to get to the proper page. Take care & good to have you. TGoz

Yea sucess! I can see that it is a thin veneer over the ribs with canvas cover. Made like a canoe maybe. 1930's 40's Penn Yan. No number on the hull either. Would there be a ball-park price I should pay for this puppy? Just in front of the bow seat is an nasty fuzzy looking nest of some kind. Hee he.

Hard to tell Chuck. Unless it is a highly sought after boat I would not think more than a couple/few hundred $US. Seems intact and in decent shape. Should make a nice tender. TGoz
